There are often many campaigns for knitters to focus their skills but I wanted to highlight one in particular at this time.

MSF or Medicins Sans Frontiers are giving free knitting patterns away with the idea that
”P/hop stands for pennies per hour of pleasure. As you are knitting your free pattern, ask yourself how many hours of pleasure it gave you. How many new techniques did you learn, for free? If you knitted from stash, how much did you save by not buying new yarn? What would all that be worth? What is the p/hop rating for what you just knitted? 10p an hour? 25p an hour?” (from the website!) You can also find more regular postings, patterns and ideas on the blog.
The aim was to raise £4,000 and the project has raised 90% of that target so far! If you’re in London or near there then a lovely lady known as ‘rooknits’ will be sewing together a phop blanket on the Plinth (15th August 9-10am)! This blanket is due to be auctioned at the iknit London Weekend (11-12th September).
If you’re in any doubt about why this is a good cause to donate too please watch THIS.

Just wanted to say thanks for the post guys! I’ll be there supporting Rooknits and telling anyone who’ll listen about p/hop!
