Still Knitting

Though I find I have less time to do it these days!  I’d love to knit a 3peaked hat for each of the men doing the 3 peakes walk later this year (local village group going for charity) but I fear I’d not manage it in time!

I have however, since arriving finished a pair of lace mittens (given to Ruth) got about 60% of a scarf done, a hat for Mark, a hat for mum and one of 2 mittens for mum! I am eager to get some more major projects done but I really don’t have the ability to concentrate that hard when I finally do get breaks!

For now I’ll promise pictures and I’ll go and try finish that pair of mittens!

Freecycle Rules!!

I forgot to take a ‘before’ picture but I was fortunate enough to get a little upholstered stool on freecycle yesterday.  It is grey with grey velour cushioning.  One hour’s naptime (the kids…not me) enabled me to  recover the cushion with ‘carrots and peas’ retroish fabric and it looks great.  I want to paint the wooden bit cream but that will have to wait till either the weekend or when we move (depending on weather and stocks of paint currently in the garage!).

using up odds and ends… and being green.

We do our best to be as green as possible in our household. So we try to avoid plastic bags and when we can we recycle. I have lots of string bags and cloth bags etc but when I came accross this pattern I had to adapt it for a funky mini corner shop string bag.

again this is a gift…

I am also planning on knitting a bag using recycled supermarket bags!

Clapotis mini and maxi

I have looked at this pattern on knitty a few times but never really go it. However having seen the many pics of people’s completed projects on ravelry I decided to give it a go.

The mini is a gift (finished).. the maxi well I dunno yet! They are both knitting from 100% pure merino hand dyed.

 

It is a great pattern- perfect imo.
